Thirty years in the lighting industry—thirty years of making the most innovative ceiling fans in the world.  From assembling fans in a garage to worldwide distribution to over 1,400 retailers, Fanimation has certainly come a long way.  No better place to celebrate the company’s accomplishments than the January Dallas Market.  Founder and CEO, Tom Frampton was there toasting to a successful journey that brought him halfway across the country from Pasadena, California to Fanimation’s current headquarters in Zionsville, Indiana [with a couple of stops in between].

It all started in January of 1984 in Tom Frampton’s garage.  Tom had a vision and through sacrifice and dedication, Tom was able to transform his vision into a reality.  Tom started with a hand full of fan designs, most notably with belt driven fans and tropical blades.  Tom constructed an outhouse by his garage so he didn’t have to disrupt family life every time he needed to use the facilities.  A replica of the outhouse found itself on top of the celebratory cake at the party.  At Fanimation, we certainly know how to have fun.  Needless to say, Fanimation has grown beyond his wildest dreams.  In 2003, his son, Nathan took the helm as President of the company.   Since then, the company has nearly doubled in size.

Tom remembers a time when Fanimation didn’t have a showroom at Dallas Market.  Today, we were the talk of the Market with the introduction of our fanLINK device.  No better way to celebrate our thirty year anniversary than by introducing a product that is on the cutting edge of ceiling fan design. With fanLINK, consumers will be able to control their fans with their smart phones/devices.  We had lighting folks pouring in for demonstrations all week long.

We celebrated this milestone with Fanimation Reps, Dealers, employees, family, and friends.  It was a great time and we look forward to the future of Fanimation.  Here’s to another thirty years!
