What we are looking for: The Director of Product Development at Fanimation is responsible for leading the company’s product innovation and development initiatives. This executive role includes strategic oversight of the entire product development lifecycle from concept to market launch.
What you will do:
- Strategic Leadership and Innovation: Develop and implement comprehensive product strategies to launch innovative and competitive products across various sales channels. Foster innovation, teamwork, and a dynamic work environment in line with Fanimation’s core values of integrity, innovation, and quality.
- Management of Product Development Teams: Provide leadership and strategic direction to our product development team, ensuring high standards of design, engineering, and quality control are maintained.
- Quality Control Oversight: Ensure robust quality control processes are in place, upholding the highest standards of product integrity.
- Cross-functional Team Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure that product development strategies are seamlessly integrated with business goals.
- Market Trends and Consumer Insights: Utilize extensive market research to inform product features and design, ensuring alignment with customer preferences and market trends.
- Performance Metrics: Drive effective product launches that meet sales and profitability targets, manage product development timelines and budgets, and contribute to innovation with patents or significant product advancements.
- Regulatory Compliance and Certifications: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards including UL certification, Energy Star, and compliance with U.S. Department of Energy regulations.
- Smart Product Integration: Oversee the integration of smart home technologies into our products, enhancing user interaction and functionality.
What you bring to Fanimation:
- At least 10 years of product development experience in consumer goods, preferably in ceiling fans or related appliances.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex product development projects from inception to market launch.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team coordination and cross-functional collaboration.
Education / Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, product design, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit for long periods and frequently use computers.
- The employee frequently will stand and walk.
- Occasionally will climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- International travel is part of this role.
