AN HONEST START
Tom Frampton, a junior in high school, begins working for Burton A. Burton (pictured on the right), Who, by 1975 forms the Casablanca Fan Company
NEW BEGINNINGS
Through a deal with Burton A. Burton, Tom Frampton leaves Casablanca with its specialty fan department and begins FANIMATION in Pasadena, California. He starts the company in his garage with three unique fan designs. The Punkah, The Palmetto, and The Bourbon Street.
THE BIG SCREEN
Contracted by a familiar interior designer who'd been tasked with creating an opulent master suite for a movie set, Tom embarked on the task of crafting a small-scale version of his grand Palmetto fan. The setting was for a film with the working title Jerry Saved from Drowning, later known, but unbeknownst to Tom, as Down and Out in Beverly Hills.
TROPICAL INTRODUCTION
After interest in the fan displayed in Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Tom decided to introduce his first residential fan, "The Palisade", a unique fan with two vertically mounted opposed motors. It was eventually deemed "too tall" to fit on a standard height ceiling. This eventually led to the creation of the "half a Palisade". Half a Palisade did so well that Tom decided it needed its own name. The Islander was born.
HOOSIER BOUND
Tom Frampton relocates FANIMATION from its origins in Pasadena, California to Indianapolis, Indiana. Shortly after, FANIMATION moved to Lebanon, Indiana.
FOREVER HOME
FANIMATION relocates to Zionsville, Indiana (a small city to the Northwest of Indianapolis), where our corporate headquarters are still located today.
A NEW GENERATION
Nathan Frampton, son of founder Tom Frampton, who had been with FANIMATION since 2001, transitioned into the role of President of FANIMATION.
RELAY FOR LIFE
Nathan Frampton agrees to shave it all off after FANIMATION employees helped raise over $1500 in donations for American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life".
LET'S CELEBRATE FANS
September 18th, 2013 marked the very first National Ceiling Fan Day (NCFD), a holiday founded by FANIMATION. The inaugural event was held with an "Awareness Party" at our headquarters. NCFD mission? —Raise awareness about energy conservation and encourage Americans to turn off their central AC for the day to save trillions of kilowatt-hours of energy.
THINKING SMART
FANIMATION introduces fanSync, an app that, at the time, could control most AC motor three-speed fans right from a smart device. The latest version utilizes WiFi connectivity to more easily integrate with the smart homes of today.
FRESH LOOK
As FANIMATION evolved—from the company known for making palm blades to one offering hundreds of designs, advanced technology and more efficient air flow, we needed to evolve in our look. This year introduced our new logo along with a full new brand design.
LIGHTOVATION GLOW UP
FANIMATION's 35th birthday kicked off with a brand new showroom at the Dallas Market Center for Lightovation. The showroom received a much needed facelift while also expanding by over 50% in size.
THE BIG 40
From our humble beginnings in the family garage of our visionary founder, Tom Frampton, to the forefront of the ceiling fan industry, our 40-year journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
