The story of FANIMATION

The Evolution of Air

What began in founder Tom Frampton’s garage has grown into more than four decades of innovation in the ceiling fan industry. Built on a legacy of quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design, our fans combine precision engineering with modern technology, including LED lighting with CCT Select and WiFi fanSync voice controls - delivering comfort, performance, and style in every space.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Through a deal with Burton A. Burton, Tom Frampton leaves Casablanca with its specialty fan department and begins FANIMATION in Pasadena, California. He starts the company in his garage with three unique fan designs. The Punkah, The Palmetto, and The Bourbon Street.

1986

THE BIG SCREEN

Contracted by a familiar interior designer who'd been tasked with creating an opulent master suite for a movie set, Tom embarked on the task of crafting a small-scale version of his grand Palmetto fan. The setting was for a film with the working title Jerry Saved from Drowning, later known, but unbeknownst to Tom, as Down and Out in Beverly Hills.

TROPICAL INTRODUCTION

After interest in the fan displayed in Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Tom decided to introduce his first residential fan, "The Palisade", a unique fan with two vertically mounted opposed motors. It was eventually deemed "too tall" to fit on a standard height ceiling. This eventually led to the creation of the "half a Palisade". Half a Palisade did so well that Tom decided it needed its own name. The Islander was born.

1994

HOOSIER BOUND

Tom Frampton relocates FANIMATION from its origins in Pasadena, California to Indianapolis, Indiana. Shortly after, FANIMATION moved to Lebanon, Indiana.
