Hi Helen,

Thank you for the inquiry! The overall height of the Beckwith with a 4.5″ downrod is 15.96″ Since the Beckwith does not have exposed blades this ceiling height will work. We typically recommend a distance of 7 feet from the floor to the tip of the fan blade, but the Beckwith is an exception because the fan blades are concealed in the drum light shade.
